Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) has announced that the
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment has been repaired and is now
functioning well.
President John Magufuli recently made an
impromptu visit to the national hospital and was dismayed to find both of the
machines not working for almost two months, with patients being referred to
private hospitals where the machines were working.
Dr Magufuli was forced
to dissolve the MNH Board of Directors and transferred the Acting Director
General Hussein Kidanto to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare following
poor services and operations at the country’s biggest medical facility.
A statement issued by the MNH
Head of Communications, Mr Aminiel Buberwa Aligaesha, noted that efforts are
still underway to repair the CT Scan machine, which went out of order for almost
two months.
