Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, said the beaches where bodies washed up are being treated as crime scenes.

Police on Tuesday retrieved bodies along the shores near the airport and around Entebbe beaches on the Lake Shores of Lake Victoria as the search for more bodies continues.

RDC Rose Kirabira has summoned owners of the various beaches and the Municipality officers.

On Saturday, the Police and marines from the UPDF warned revellers to leave the water after weather conditions seemed to have changed as huge waves slapped the beach shores. Some revellers who had been seen with alcohol in the water hesitated to leave the water.

“We only got a report of one person who had gone missing after he had gone to the beach with his friends. We discovered that he was one of the deceased,” police spokesperson said.

The dead were identified as Brian Nsubuga of Kayunga, Allan Mubiru of Natete, Abubaker Ssensonyiwa of Kawempe Kigagga Zone, Haruna Mubiru, Sula Kato, Arafat Kabonge, Richard Senyondo and Abdu Wakayeli.

Police have sealed off three Entebbe beaches as investigations into the mysterious death of 13 people continue. Over a dozen died from beaches in Entebbe following a weekend of Christmas festivities, report  Uganda's New Vision.
