Mwanza. Cholera outbreak in Mwanza Region has been
contained tremendously with current statistics showing only 15 patients are
still undergoing medication out of over 270 reported last five days.
Cholera camps in all the affected districts recorded sharp
decrease of patients with only five still admitted in Ukerewe, two in
Sengerema, five in Ilemela and only one in Mwanza City Council (MCC) as of
yesterday according to acting Mwanza Acting Regional Medical officer.
However, health education and
campaign was still going on regional-wise to avoid future outbreaks, emphasis
being directed on urban dwellers and fishing community usually taking hygiene
issues for granted.
Kigoma. Seven people have been admitted at hospital and dispensaries in Kigoma region after contracting cholera which has spread and killed people in some regions in Tanzania.
Three patients had been hospitalized at Ujiji in the Kigoma Municipality while four others were from Rukoma Village in Uvinza District according to Kigoma Region's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Leonard Subi.
