The Special Zone Police Commander, Commissioner of Police (CP)
Simon Sirro, addressing reporters in the city, said has collected 1.09bn/- as
fine for various traffic offences. The amount was collected
from 36,574 offences committed by drivers and riders involving more than 65,056 vehicles and 4,046 motorcycles in three weeks.
“Our goal is not to make profit by collecting huge amounts of money
but to make sure road users obey traffic rules and regulations all the time,”
CP Sirro told reporters.
