Nebuye village, Ukerewe. On Thursday members of the District Defense
and Security Committee uprooted and burnt Marijuana valued at Tsh.30 Million on
a three hectare piece of land in the forest near Mabuta Hills.
Focus Majumbi, Ukerewe District Administrative Secretary ordered residents
to stop cultivating marijuana and instead focus on cash crops like cotton and
food crops.
Ukerewe OCD, Ally Mkalipa said, his office was given a tip off
from concerned citizen. He urged citizen to continue sharing helpful
information in order to fight crime.
