A total of 937,467 candidates are set to start the Kenya Certificate of Primary
Education examination today.
KCPE exams started countrywide
Kenya
National Examinations Council (Knec) Chief Executive Joseph Kivilu assured the
candidates that the council was well prepared for the examination.
“Our
concern is heavy rains that have increased and with the bad roads in rural
areas, we expect some challenges,” said Dr Kivilu.
The
candidates will start with the Mathematics paper, followed by English Language
and English Composition tests later in the afternoon.
On
Wednesday, the candidates will write Science, Kiswahili Lugha, and Kiswahili
Insha papers while on Thursday they will conclude with Social Studies and
Religious Education.
UACE exams started countrywide
Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams kicked
off countrywide yesterday with a few reported anomalies cited on the Uganda
National Examinations Board register and cases of missing students, officials
have said.
He said 330 students are sitting for the exams and that all
the 155 students who registered for economics had turned up.
