Kenya; There is mystery surrounds the disappearance of a Kenya Army Land
Cruiser from the Embakasi Garrison on Thursday night. Police sources say officers from
the garrison reported the theft on Friday morning.
A source said the theft has
sparked fears of a terror attack.
The source said al Shabaab can
pack the vehicle with explosives and drive it to a packed mall or an army base.
The source said: “They say the
car was parked at an area where not even a police car can be allowed to park
and anyone who drove out with the car must be a military officer in full
uniform.”
The source hinted at a possible
inside job.
“It is very embarrassing these
officers can do something like this while comfortable at the barracks as their
colleagues die in Somalia.”
The officer said: “We have directed
officers to stop any green military Land Cruiser and interrogate its
occupants.”
However, the officer said this
will be difficult as military officers are likely to ignore police orders.
