Ruto no show up
The
US president was received by President Uhuru Kenyatta and a host of senior
government officials. Deputy President William Ruto, who is facing a crime
against humanity case at the International Criminal Court, was nowhere to be
seen.
Upon arrival, president Obama, whose father is Kenyan,
received a bouquet of flowers from young Joan. He took time to greet, hug and
take pictures with her. The US president signed a visitors’ book as President
Kenyatta watched. Also at the JKIA to receive President Obama was President
Kenyatta’s son Muhoho Kenyatta.
He
later shook hands and hugged with President Kenyatta under the watch of the
hawk-eyed Secret Service officers.

The
US president then proceeded to shake the hands of the senior government
officials before giving a loving hug to his half-sister Auma Obama.
Auma
later rode in President Obama’s official car christened the ‘Beast’. Auma then
took a ride in the ‘Beast’ which is one of the most highly protected and
armoured vehicles. President
Obama appeared to have confused the ‘Beast’ when he walked towards the decoy,
before being shown the right one.
Why President Obama is in Kenya?
President
Obama is in Kenya to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at the United
Nations headquarters in Gigiri, Nairobi. The summit is co-hosted by Kenya and
the US.
